Security Alert: Potential Phishing Threat Targeting Collabria Cardholders - Apr 11, 2024

Collabria has issued a warning about a potential phishing threat aimed at cardholders. There may be suspicious websites which try to imitate Collabria Financial’s official web presence. It presents a significant risk of mimicking Collabria’s legitimate services to deceive cardholders.

Collabria is proactively working to neutralize this threat.

This is a reminder to only access the official Collabria websites and applications when managing credit card accounts or submitting a card application, and to avoid clicking on links from unknown sources.

HSBC Disconnection from THE EXCHANGE Network - Mar 05, 2024

Please be advised that as of March 18, 2024, HSBC will no longer be part of The Exchange Network.

This is due to the pending sale of HSBC to Royal Bank of Canada. Our members will be unable to transact at HSBC ATMs after March 18, 2024.

Please visit theexchangenetwork.ca to locate ATMs that continue to be surcharge-free for Comtech Fire members.

Board of Directors of Comtech Fire Credit Union Limited New Board Member Appointment

TORONTO, Monday January 10 2022: Comtech Fire is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Scott Marks to our Board of Directors. As a member of our board, Mr. Marks will assist in representing our membership and ensuring the successful direction of Comtech Fire Credit Union.

Having served as a Toronto Fire Fighter for 29 years, Mr. Marks retired in 2010 at the rank of Captain/Acting District Chief. During his career in the fire service, he was active in his union and served from 2002 to 2010 as President of Canada’s largest local fire fighter union, the 3,000-member Toronto Professional Fire Fighters Association, IAFF Local 3888. During his tenure as President his team negotiated and resolved important outstanding issues left from the amalgamation of the City of Toronto including, retiree health benefits, shift schedules and promotional issues.

In 2010, Mr. Marks was appointed by International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) General President Harold Schaitberger to oversee its Canadian Operations. Working out of the IAFF Canadian Office in Ottawa, he was responsible for directing IAFF staff, the Canadian Legislative Program, Canadian Policy Conference and other initiatives to ensure the needs of the IAFF’s 27,000 Canadian members were met at every level. Under Mr. Marks the IAFF welcomed Montreal Fire Fighters back into the IAFF in 2017 and its Canadian Office now rolls out service in both of Canada’s official languages.

Mr. Marks retired from IAFF in September 2021 and presently serves on the Board of Directors of Muscular Dystrophy Canada. In addition, he also serves on the Sponsors Corporation Board of OMERS, representing the retirees.

Exchange Network Update

Comtech Fire members have access to over 43,000 surcharge-free ATMs in North America with THE EXCHANGE Network in Canada and the Allpoint Network in the US.

Receiving money from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has never been easier. Whether you’re due for a relief payment like the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), the Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB), or the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) or are waiting on your tax refund, you can set up direct deposit with the CRA to get your money faster.
 
Simply log in to your Member Direct Online Banking, go to "Account Services", and select "Set Up CRA Direct Deposit" from the menu.
